There is no need to do it, the openings on the LLY flanges are both bigger than the one inlet (intake horn) that feeds the two of them, even with the aftermarket 3" OD pieces. Next issue is the LB7 Y-bridge is fairly small, I was going to hack mine off & go 3" into the Y but the mpi intercooler tubing is small also, so I left it alone. You should have plenty of clearance, plus your using a regular clamp instead of the LLY v-clamp. Oh & I'm a idiot I didn't realize that the garage doesn't work like DP's.
